Promethean General Contractors, LLC was awarded this design-bid-build contract to replace a storm-damaged shops building at the Calcasieu River Saltwater Barrier facility. The work involved full demolition and removal of the existing structure and perimeter fencing, followed by construction of a new elevated industrial building with integrated mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
Project Scope Highlights:
Demolition & Site Prep: Complete removal of the damaged shops building and associated chain-link security fence.
Structural Construction: Installation of steel pipe piles; forming and placing of pile caps, concrete ramps, and elevated slab foundations.
Facility Enhancements: Erection of a prefabricated metal building system equipped with bridge cranes, overhead electric, and top-running equipment.
Security & Systems Upgrades:
Installation of a rolling security gate and replacement of chain-link perimeter fencing.
Integration and refit of existing security electronics to support site access control.
MEP & Specialty Work:
Structural welding and installation of steel doors and overhead coiling doors.
Plumbing systems installation with seismic bracing for mechanical and plumbing equipment.
Ventilation and general-purpose mechanical systems.
Coal tar epoxy coating applications for high-durability concrete protection.
